The Diary of a Madman is a story of experiences of a Tsarist clerk – a patient in a psychiatric hospital – who lost his sanity due to an unfulfilled love and to the conflict between personal apsirations and the inhuman nature of the bureaucratic world.
In this play, two actors, Bohdan Stupka (known for his excellent role of Bohdan Chmielnicki in the film “With Fire and Sword”) and Ostap Stupka fully utilise the unlimited abilities to demonstrate the excellence of the acting art the whole range of changing moods and feelings – from melancholy to madness.
The father and the son have created the real stage masterpiece successfully played in Ukrainian all over the world. Due to the high level of universality and clarity the performance was understood and warmly applauded in spite of the language barrier.
