The moving story of Ada, a sixteen-year old who one day wants to move to New York, play concerts there, adopt children and deliver food aid to Africa. Meanwhile, her life is limited to the four walls of a secure children’s hospital unit, to chemotherapy, the sounds of medical machinery… The girl longs for her absentee father, worries about the mother she is best friends with, one who does “a good job of being both mum and dad”, and keeps up contact with her girlfriends. It is impossible not to grow to like our young protagonist, shown in authentic footage of personal and medical interviews, as she carries on the fight for her own life.
