This is an extraordinary surrealistic performance, magic theatre. It tells a story about the cursed artist, Antonin Artaud. The performance has a structure of a chaotic reminiscence consisting of some fragments of memories, disconnected images, voices from another world, dreams.
Artaud dies tied to his bed in an asylum, holding a shoe in his hand. The torture of agony evokes some images from the past, of his mother, his lover and a series of electric shock treatment, a scene of Marat´s death, a character Artaud played in a film.
Psychiatrists, former admirers of his art, walk around him in a grotesque manner, the only solution they can find is to experiment with new methods of treatment. “Artaud was a prince. His thinking was great. He was man of fire, Prometheus” – Andre Breton said about this extraordinary poet, playwright and visionary.
