Dynamic and touching film about the foundation of one of the most ill-famed terrorist organisation of the last century. A dramatic picture about social transformations and at the same time a portrait of two people, whose actions influenced the history of the modern world. During the visit the Iranian Shah pays to Berlin, there are riots on the streets, which are bloodily quashed by the police. This event will become a trouble spot, which will make Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof protest against the rightist political tendencies of the government. This in turn will result in establishing the secret organisation, which will shortly be widely known as RAF (German: Rote Armee Fraktion; English: Red Army Faction). The film is based on a novel by Stefan Aust entitled: ‘Der Baader Meinhof Komplex’. The artistic achievements of its director include, among others, such pictures as: ‘We, the Children from Bahnhof ZOO’ and ‘Last Exit to Brooklyn’.
