The performance is set in a small village in Ireland. It shows what happens when a big world invades a small, provincial community. A Hollywood production company chooses this place as the set of their next film and hires the locals as extras. The atmosphere on set and the colossal money that go with the Hollywood machine make people fantasize about living their own American dream. Will life bring them yet another disappointment or will their dreams come true? The characters of the performance try to answer this
question. There are more than a dozen of characters played only by two actors. The performance guarantees a maximum of emotions using the minimum of means. Limited stage design and lack of sophisticated music prove that a good play and creativity of the authors are enough to make an interesting performance. “Stones in His Pockets” won the Grand Audience Award at the “Kontrapunkt” Small Forms Festival in 2007 and the Award of the Audience at the Spring Theatre Festival in Bielsko-Biała in 2008.
Scena InVitro was founded in Lublin in December 2007 as part of the Centre for Culture in Lublin. The aim of this original and innovative project was to create, with the help of Polish artists from different cities, a network of scenes cooperating with each other and exchanging their repertoire. It provides an alternative to people who are looking for their own theatre path. The man behind the project is theatre director Łukasz Witt-Michałowski.
