Anna (Trine Dyrholm) is fed up with her life in the city. She persuades her husband to break up with the dull, orderly life and conservatism of the era and to experiment with communal living in a huge house that they unexpectedly inherited.

Anna and her family take us into their life in the commune to see how its members wake up and fall asleep together, and cook and share their secrets. Friendship, love and tolerance of the group living under one roof is put to the test when Anna’s husband tells her his plans. He fell in love with a much younger girl and would like to invite her to the commune.
