How come Donald Trump won the elections in the States? Who in fact voted for him? None of my friends, for sure!” Do you remember such reactions? An impression that the present reality is not your reality, that you have not anticipated, not treated something seriously, as the danger seemed to be far away and unreal. What, however, if it is us who lost touch with reality, closing ourselves in a glass bubble with the company of only those who share our views?
Bogna Burska and Magda Mosiewicz observe the current situation, in which divisions in Polish society seem not possible to eliminate at all—and draw conclusions:
“Television, school, neighbours, politicians, drivers, wall inscriptions – little everyday violence triggers persistent thoughts about moving abroad. Yet, there are neighbours, politicians, and drivers in other countries, too. We propose a way out of this dead end, this vicious circle or spiral of hate. The end of violence. We propose a new system; it will be simple and cheap: it only requires bringing back our imagination.”
