Theatre Confrontations Festival has been recognised as one of the most significant cultural events in the region and one of the biggest of its kind in Eastern Poland. A key idea for the current editions is the revival of the “old spirit” for the new festival, with emphasis on the “classically” understood theatre – one based on literary works and with great acting creations. However, we do not cast aside the body of work and the directions taken in the recent years presenting a more performative formula. The main programme is completed by numerous accompanying events such as meetings with makers, cinema screenings and live acts. The Festival creates an opportunity for the Lublin’s audience to meet with most remarkable international and Polish theatre makers.
