Śląsk Dance Theatre is the first Polish professional contemporary dance company, founded in 1991 by choreographer Jacek Łumiński. The present style of the company, influenced by numerous factors, is recognized worldwide and defined as a combination of various, typically Polish elements of experiencing music and space, as well as shaping movement within space.
‘Outcast’ is set in ‘the culture of a big city’, in the milieu which aspires after the standards of fashionable life bordering on the absurd. Some people try to escape from the life of big cities because they realize how ridiculous and provincial it is. They search for some other places, alternative ways, taking hallucinogenic drugs. In this way they find it easier to keep a distance from ‘a blind run’ cultivating the virtual world created by imagination, and live beyond the borders of real perception. It is them whom we observe at social occasions and in the crowded streets…
