The concert comprises traditional Polish songs (sung in a rough manner, rooted in archaic folk rituals) and improvisations on the trumpet, an instrument whose musical and historical connotations are quite specific. The minimalist form adopted by the artists shows how far and yet close to each other both expressions of music are, neither blurring the differences nor escaping similarities. An attempt to bring these two aesthetics together may be interesting in that Brice Pichard frequently employs prepared instruments, which greatly broadens the way his trumpet sounds.
