Without Land Theatre Group, BiałystokI will sell the house in which I do not want to live any more
Without Land Theatre Group, based at Theatre Academy, Puppet Department in Białystok, was founded in 2001. They usually base their productions on literary texts by Beckett, Lowry, Suskind and others, also drawing inspiration from Edward Muybridge’s photographs or Francis Bacon’s paintings. Literature is a pretext to build visual narration. I will sell the house in which I do not want to live any more originated from ‘Bar World’ by Hrabal. It attempts at showing an image of the broken world: man’s tired and dull eyes refract pure colours, people show only ugly sides of their souls and their fate is arranged in the lines of continuous misfortunes. Seeing is everything: an eye and its laws determine the shape of the world and its basic meaning. The production tells us about carrying the world from the bottom of the hell to the Lost Peace Land, about the efforts connected with carrying it, about a miracle which waits in the least expected fragment of an eye’s retina…
