The eyes of our mothers getting into our hearts and thoughts are our consciousness

They judge and love us
Full of love and fear
The eyes of mother
Tadeusz Różewicz

Leszek Mądzik’s performance was inspired by Rozewicz’s poem. In an extremely subtle and dramatically intimate way it touches upon not only a problem of death itself, but also a process of departing of which you become aware when you accompany a dying person. Różewicz’s perspective of an extremely intimate contact with his mother, insightful perspective of her agony and sharp existential awareness was transcribed into theatrical scenes in which black and white images reminiscent of photographs, modeled with light, interpreted by suggestive music and impressive vocal of Urszula Dudziak, became a universal epitaph for a dying person, and a “school of the most difficult feelings” for the one who remains.
